Gianfranco Ferré, the bearded, suited 'architect of fashion', 'suffered a brain haemorrhage and died on June 15 2007, aged 62. He had been creative director of the company since 2002 when Gianfranco Ferré Spa became part of IT Holding.

With the passage of time, however, the concept of 'fashion designing' has extended to other things such as fashion accessories such as jewellery, bags, footwear, etc. Keeping in mind the evolution of fashion designing, it would not be wrong to define it as 'the creation of fashion'.

Ik kende Giel al een tijdje van op diverse meetings en wat mij enorm boeit is de steile opmars die hij op zéér korte tijd heeft gemaakt van doorgewinterd model naar fashionfotograaf met een eigen herkenbare stijl. Vooral dat laatste vind ik hét punt waarop iemand zich kan onderscheiden en kans maakt om door te groeien tot de top. De lijst met modellen van betekenis en collega-fotografen met wie hij al samengewerkt heeft is lang en de wachtlijst zo mogelijk nog langer ;-) . Daarbij komt nog het feit dat-ie een zeer aimabel persoon is zonder pretentie, dus niets stond het eerste ‘Shootings Stars’ wapenfeit in de weg! Have fun:

Consider the fashion industry, a creative industry larger by far than the film, recorded music and book publishing industries. The fashion industry profits by setting trends in clothing, and then inducing consumers to follow those trends. Trend-driven consumption is good for the fashion industry, because it sells more clothing. In any event, the fashion industrys ability to create trends is based on designers relative freedom to copy. Well, if the law prohibited fashion design copying, then the fashion industry would have a much harder time creating and responding to trends.

Fashion is soaring up in mens world equally to that of womens. Mens wear for this year will look easy and modern. Fashion keeps repeating, but mens trend is coming in innovative styles for the current year. Both bright colors and delicate hues will be in vogue. Bright colored suits will add a depth to ones personality whereas; subtle colours will be represented in designers suits. A feminine touch with floral prints and embroidery is developing in menswear. Metallic shades will add a flash of inspiration.
